About Me

As they say, life is a journey; I began my career with a B.A. in Psychology, working in a variety of businesses after college. Then while raising a family, I completed a Master’s in Education and New York State certification as a biology and general science teacher. That degree led to a career as a middle school science teacher.
No one’s life is without pain or challenge in some guise. After several personal losses, a voice in me wanted to follow my passion and pursue the work in psychology to which I was always drawn; I completed my Masters in Social Work at Fordham University in New York. My therapeutic approach integrates and reflects not only my career as a licensed psychotherapist but my life experiences, my large and diverse family, as well as my business and professional educator experience.
I am a licensed clinical social worker in Connecticut (#007557) and New York (077096). I worked for seven years in a non-profit outpatient mental health clinic in New Rochelle, NY. At this agency I worked with children, adolescents, adults, families and couples. I also ran groups for adults and adolescents. I have treated the issues of depression, anxiety, trauma, sexual identity, grief and loss, emotional dysregulation, school problems, non-suicidal self-injury, ADHD, deficits in social skills, divorce, and family conflict. I have been fortunate to receive additional training in CBT and DBT as well as weekly group and individual supervision.
I completed the intensive Training Program in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) through Behavioral Tech, LLC (www.behavioraltech.org). I also trained in Internal Family Systems therapy and completed Level 1, 2, and 3 training at Central Connecticut State University, Marriage and Family Therapy Professional Training Program in conjunction with the Center for Self Leadership. I am a certified IFS therapist (www.selfleadership.org). I also enjoy working with children ages 4-11 and have received continuing education training in play therapy since 2009 with a certified APT (Association for Play Therapy) therapist.
I look forward to using my skills in my private practice in Watertown and encourage you to explore the website and contact me to schedule a 30 minute no charge interview. (860-417-6100)
